Step 1. Greet the class and check the homework.

 

Step 2. Lead—in

Say, “This evening, I am going to have an English party. Can you come to my party?” Some students may say “Yes”, and others may say “No”. Tell student that this is an invitation, and they should response politely.

Ask students to think about it ,and then try to give their answers.

 

Guide students to say: Sure, I’d love to.

              Sorry , I can’t. I have to do my homework.

Invite 3 students, one makes an invitation, and the others make responses.

Ask students to work in 4 to make conversations.

Get several groups to act in class.

Step 3. 1a

Ask students to turn to Page 25,and look at the phrases in 1a. Ask a student to read them to the class, and tell the Chinese meaning

Get the students to read the phrases for several times until most of them can pronounce them correctly.

Call attention to the picture in 1a, and ask students to match the phrases with the picture.

Move around to check the progress

Check the answers by asking students to point to the picture and tell the answers.

Teacher shows the answers.

Step 4. Listening Comprehension (1b)

Show the five pictures on the screen, and ask a student to read them to

t he class.

Ask students to look at the picture again and tell them that these five


 

people are in the picture. I will play the tape, listen carefully and find out the right peole.

Play the tape twice.

Check the answers.

Teacher shows the answers.

Step5. Groupwork (1c)

Show the conversation on the screen, and ask 3 students to read it to the class.

Ask students to work in 3 to make conversations.

Move around the classroom to give any necessary help.

Get several pairs to act in class.

1.      Transcribe the phrases onto the exercise book.(3 times)

2.      Transcribe the conversation in 1c onto the exercise book.

3.       Choose 2 people from the picture in 1a to make conversations.( 2 conversations)
